This week’s Summer Story Hour celebrated farm life and invited children to bring in stuffed animals to The Learning Community for the event that included story time, crafting and a snack.
More than 20 children attended, gathering around to listen to storybooks about farm life before completing a picture frame craft they could cover with barnyard stickers.
There are still two more themed Summer Story Hours planned for the following Wednesdays:
- Aug. 10, Lost in Space. Dress like an alien.
- Aug. 17, Find the Magic. Dress like your favorite Disney character.
Parents should reserve their children’s spot at the story hour, which run noon to 1 p.m., by calling 954-2650.
In addition, every day during the summer break, Broadalbin-Perth will announce a different book for students to read, both on the district website and Facebook page. Click here for more information on the Summer Book Club.
Elementary-aged children are encouraged to log their summer reading to turn in at the beginning of the school year. Those who would like to borrow books to read are welcome to visit the 1,000 Book Club in the TLC lobby, which is open every day.
